Where This Work Has Taken Me

For years, I lugged my massage table in and out of clients’ homes before enjoying being part of a few great teams, including The Spa at Sawmill Athletic Club and Open Sky Day Spa. Eventually, I ventured out on my own, first within the walls of Modo Yoga and now at Chrysalis Healing within Revitalized Roots, my very own happy place.

Along the way, I’ve had a few pinch-me moments. I’ve somehow found myself backstage working with touring bands, including Platinum and Grammy Award-winning artists and their hardworking crews, at KEMBA Live!, Nationwide Arena, and the Schottenstein Center. I’ve also had the opportunity to support professional and collegiate athletes, including those at Pelotonia Gravel Day and the Elite Runners at the Columbus Marathon.

And one of the most random gigs I’ve ever had? Massaging the President of Iceland’s wife. Twice! She enjoyed the first session enough that I was invited back the next day. Ask me about that one sometime. 😆

Sometimes I look back and think, I got to do all of that?!

The rock stars and celebrities certainly make for some fun stories, but I’m most grateful for the clients who have continued to support me and my work over the years by continuing to show up for themselves on my table. That trust is what has allowed me to keep doing work I love for more than 25 years.

And now that my kids are adults and I’m officially in my empty-nest era, I occasionally daydream about renovating a tour bus into a mobile Chrysalis. You know, just in case Taylor Swift needs a massage therapist for her next tour.
